Rosmini College has taken down rivals Rangitoto College in the Secondary Schools AA Championship in Palmerston North on Saturday.
With a final score of 87-79, it was anyone’s game for the taking. However, Rosmini’s big fourth quarter led by Marvin Williams-Dunn (17 points) was enough to get the job done.
Rosmini won their first National Championship since 2011. Their victory snapping Rangitoto’s two-year championship reign.
Mitchell Dance was a standout for Rosmini, notching 26 points and 10 rebounds on the night while William Tuaputa-Heather managed 15 points.
Dan Fotu led the way for Rangitoto with 28 points and nine rebounds. Logan McIntosh (15 points, six rebounds) and Zack Te Puni (14 points, seven rebounds) were also solid contributors.
Mitchell Dance was named as the championship game MVP.
