The Tall Blacks have taken down Canada 82-60 on Monday night, securing themselves a spot in the Commonwealth Games semi-finals.
New Zealand had a nose in front for much of the contest, displaying some impressive ball movement and sturdy defence to dismantle a young Canadian squad.
Thomas Abercrombie led the way for the Tall Blacks, dropping 17 points and nine rebounds. Finn Delaney added 15 points and six boards, while Rob Loe managed 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
The Tall Blacks committed 26 turnovers throughout the contest. Taking care of the ball has been an issue for them so far and they’ll need to tidy it up prior to the semi-final round on the Gold Coast.
New Zealand, however, enjoyed a large deficit in rebounding, grabbing 53 boards to Canada’s 32.
Canada will play England in the quarterfinals tonight, with the winner facing New Zealand on April 14.
