Former Rangitoto College standout Zack Te Puni has committed to College of Saint Rose, a Division II school based in New York.
Te Puni played a big hand in Rangitoto’s National Championship reign in 2016. He also helped his school return to the final in 2017, before falling to Rosmini College.
He is currently playing for the Super City Rangers in the NZ NBL, and is scheduled to head over to the States in August.
Te Puni is the latest New Zealand high school product to commit to an American college.
Former Rangitoto teammate Daniel Fotu committed to Saint Mary’s in October, Rosmini’s William Heather recently announced his commitment to Dallas Baptist University, and Manawatu centre Callum McRae signed with the University of California Riverside.
New Zealand’s basketball talent base continues to expand, and these youngsters are leading the next wave that are looking to make their mark on a worldwide scale.
