The Wellington Saints were able to erase a 16-point deficit and beat the Super City Rangers on Sunday afternoon, 108-91.
The Saints outscored the Rangers 57-38 in the second half alone, en route to their first victory of the season.
Shea Ili was instrumental in the Saints’ comeback win, totaling 26 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 32 minutes (10-of-14 shooting).
Leon Henry managed 20 points with six rebounds and four assists, while American import L.J. Peak dropped 26 points on a perfect 11-of-11 shooting from the field.
Majok Majok added 14 points and six rebounds in 31 minutes.
Junior Ale led the Rangers in scoring with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from three.
Lindsay Tait (15 points, three rebounds and seven assist) and Devon Scott (15 points) both contributed for the Rangers, too.
The Rangers drop to 0-3 with today’s loss, while the Saints move to 1-1.
