The Southland Sharks were too strong for the Super City Rangers on Thursday night, cruising to a 108-87 victory at home.
Southland guard Orlando Coleman led the way with 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting (2-of-2 3PT), adding 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 26 minutes of action.
Canadian import Conor Morgan added 22 points, nine rebounds and four assists on 8-of-17 shooting from the field and 3-of-8 from three.
Jarrad Weeks hit three 3-pointers for 13 points and eight assists, while Alex Pledger and Luke Aston contributed 10 points each. Pledger also reeled in 10 boards with two blocks in 23 minutes.
Junior Ale and Devon Scott each scored 17 points for the Rangers. Ale nailed three 3-pointers, while Scott produced seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks.
Veteran guard Marcel Jones dropped 16 points with a pair of threes, adding seven rebounds and four assists. Dominique Kelman-Poto managed 15 points and eight rebounds in his 22 minutes of work.
The Sharks crushed the Rangers on the glass, outrebounding them 60-41. The Rangers have struggled for much of the season in the rebounding department, largly due to their lack of size in the frontcourt.
Southland move to 5-2 following tonight’s win, while the Rangers remain winless at 0-7.
