The Nelson Giants have crushed the Taranaki Mountainairs on Friday night, 91-58.
The Giants established a big lead early in the contest and would never trail en route to a massive victory.
Kyle Adnam led the way with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field and 2-of-4 from three, adding three rebounds, six assists and four steals in 28 minutes.
Damon Heuir and Finn Delaney each scored 18 points for the Giants. Delaney also reeled in 13 rebounds and shot 7-of-12 from the field (2-of-4 3PT), while Heuir shot 8-of-18 and 2-of-7 from three.
The Airs got contributions from Xavier Smith (17 points) and Alonzo Burton (12 points). Burton nailed four 3-pointers in 33 minutes of work, while Smith hit two from distance.
Taranaki struggled in many areas tonight, shooting just 34 per cent and falling into a heavy deficit on the glass (31-51).
The Airs’ 58 points is their worst mark since 2009 when they managed just 59 points against the Wellington Saints.
The Giants are now 5-2 on the season while the Airs drop to 2-4.
