Ethan Rusbatch had a stellar outing against his former team, totaling 22 points, nine assists and three steals in 36 minutes, shooting 7-of-15 from the field and 4-of-10 from three.
Angus Brandt was productive in his 38 minutes of action, recording 20 points, six rebounds and three assists on 9-of-15 shooting.
Jarrod Kenney finished with 18 points, six rebounds, seven assists and three steals on 6-of-11 shooting and a perfect 4-of-4 from distance, while Dion Prewster had 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Julian Washburn had one of his better outings for the Rams this season, scoring 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 from three.
Winston Shepard did a bit of everything with 18 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, four steals and one block in 39 minutes, while Xavier Thames struggled going 2-of-12 from the floor for seven points.
The Hawks shot a blistering hot 54 per cent from the field and 45 per cent from three on the night, while the Rams finished up at 43 per cent from the field.
Hawke’s Bay move to 5-3 following the victory. Canterbury suffer their second defeat of the season and sit at 5-2.
