The Southland Sharks have comfortably beaten the Taranaki Mountainairs 92-71 on Friday night.
Canadian import Conor Morgan led the way for Southland, posting 20 points and eight rebounds on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and 2-of-5 from three.
Orlando Coleman and Jarrad Weeks were also productive. Coleman dropped 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Weeks had 11 points and eight assists.
Tom Vodanovich had a great game off the bench for the Sharks, finishing with 17 points and six rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting in 22 minutes.
Javonte Douglas’ best efforts weren’t enough to get the Airs the win. He posted 27 points, 19 rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 36 minutes of work, shooting 10-of-19 from the field and 3-of-6 from three.
Houston O’Riley (12 points) and Dane Brooks (13 points) also had solid outings, combining to hit four 3-pointers.
The Sharks are now 6-2 on the season, while the Airs drop to 2-6.
