The New Zealand Breakers have announced the signing of G/F Armani Moore as the team’s first import.
Moore played his college basketball at Tennessee, and has most recently spent time in Germany.
In his final season with Tennessee, Moore posted averages of 12.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in 32.7 minutes per game. He shot 41.4 per cent from the field and 31.6 per cent from three.
He’s a well-renowned defender, who tends to lock down opposing teams’ best players. Moore’s outside shot isn’t the most glamorous, but he makes up for it in other areas.
“I would say being able to bring heaps of energy to the court, as well as being a team player in every aspect. I’m a competitor. I rebound and play very aggressive defence as well as knocking down open three-pointers,” said Moore.
“I have heard a lot of good things about the Breakers, things like it’s always a great crowd at the games and people really come out to have fun and support the team which is something I value.”
The team still has two import spots left to fill, and the New Zealand Herald reports that the Breakers are eyeing a high-end centre.
