The Super City Rangers have grabbed their first win of the season on Thursday night, taking down the Taranaki Mountainairs 93-86.
Veteran Lindsay Tait celebrated his 300th NBL game in style with a win. He managed 10 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 34 minutes of work.
Dominique Kelman-Poto was fantastic for the Rangers, dropping 26 points and 15 rebounds on 11-of-16 shooting from the field. He only played 26 minutes, too, making the performance even more impressive.
Marcel Jones recorded 25 points and 12 rebounds but shot just 7-of-21 from the field, while Clay Wilson posted 22 points with three 3-pointers.
Taranaki’s Roger Woods was solid despite the loss, scoring 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting and 2-of-3 from three.
Javonte Douglas was also productive with 20 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in 33 minutes, shooting 9-of-17 and 2-of-5 from three.
The Rangers move to 1-9 following the victory, while the Airs are now 2-7.
