The Bay Hawks managed to hold on against the Super City Rangers on Saturday night, winning 93-84 at Pettigrew Green Arena.
The Hawks managed to erase a 13-point deficit to avoid the upset at home.
Import Angus Brandt had a big night for the Hawks with 22 points and 17 rebounds on 9-of-16 shooting from the field. He also hit one 3-pointer to top off a stellar outing.
Jamie Skeen was productive with 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting and 2-of-5 from three in 27 minutes, and Jarrod Kenney did a bit of everything with 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists on 5-of-8 shooting from the field.
Ethan Rusbatch added 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals on 4-of-9 shooting.
Marcel Jones led the Rangers in scoring with 23 points on 9-of-21 shooting. He added eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in 33 minutes.
Clayton Wilson hit a pair of 3-pointers en route to 17 points on the night. He shot 7-of-17 overall in 35 minutes.
Lindsay Tait managed 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal on 4-of-11 shooting, and Dominique Kelman-Poto added 12 points for Auckland.
Captain Dillon Boucher turned back the clock with a productive line across the board, recording seven points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 27 minutes.
The Hawks are now 6-5 on the season, while the Rangers drop to 1-10.
