The New Zealand Breakers have reportedly landed a preseason matchup against the Phoenix Suns, according to Olgun Uluc of Fox Sports Australia.
Australian NBL teams have featured in NBA preseason action in recent seasons, but this will be the first appearance for the New Zealand based club.
The matchup will reportedly take place in Phoenix at Talking Stick Resort Arena on October 3.
The Suns finished with the worst record in the NBA last season (21-51) but have a promising young core to build on for the future.
Star guard Devin Booker is their headline talent, and the team recently added 7-foot-1 big man Deandre Ayton with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft.
It’s a tremendous opportunity for the Breakers and will be a good chance to see how they matchup against an NBA team.
Four other NBL teams will also play against NBA teams during the preseason. More info can be found HERE.
