The Southland Sharks have grabbed a big win over the Nelson Giants on Friday night, winning 103-95 in Nelson.
The Giants went on a 13-0 run to close the gap late, but the Sharks were able to clamp down and hold on for the win.
Alex Pledger recorded a double-double for the Sharks with 18 points and 10 rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting.
Jarrad Weeks also dropped 18 points, adding three rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 31 minutes of work. He shot 6-of-12 from the field and 1-of-6 from three.
Orlando Coleman posted 17 points and six rebounds on 4-of-10 shooting, while Reuben Te Rangi had 14 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-11.
Conor Morgan cooled off after his big outing last night in Auckland, finishing with 14 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-14 shooting from the field.
Kyle Adnam had a fantastic game for the Giants, dropping 27 points, three rebounds, six assists and two steals in 40 minutes of work. Adnam played the entire game and shot 9-of-17 from the field and 4-of-7 from three.
Finn Delaney and Jerry Evans Jr. each nailed 3-pointers. Delaney had 22 points and five rebounds on 9-of-18 shooting, while Evans Jr. recorded 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
Damon Heuir added 14 points, four rebounds and five assists for Nelson.
Both teams now sit at 10-3 on the season.
