The Canterbury Rams have secured a thrilling double-overtime win against the Manawatu Jets on Friday night, 106-103.
It was the first double-OT game of the season and maybe one of the most thrilling, as the Jets refused to roll over throughout the contest and made countless plays to keep themselves in it.
Guard Daishon Knight set a Jets franchise record with 47 points in the loss, adding seven rebounds, four assists and two steals on 14-of-31 shooting and 6-of-10 from three.
Kuran Iverson recorded a massive double-double with 23 points, 21 rebounds, four assists and one steal on 8-of-21 shooting and 1-of-8 from three.
Brandon Lucas managed 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, while Haize Walker added 12 points with two 3-pointers for the Jets.
For the Rams, Michael Karena led the way with 27 points and 10 rebounds on 12-of-24 shooting from the field.
Winston Shepard recorded his second straight triple-double, an impressive feat, with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists and three steals on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor.
Julian Washburn compiled 16 points and 11 rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting, while Tony Tolovae scored 16 points.
The Rams are now 7-8 on the season following the victory, and the Jets drop to 2-12.
