Tall Blacks name squad for next set of World Cup qualifiers

Tall Blacks head coach Paul Henare has named an experienced 12-man squad for September’s World Cup qualifiers against Syria and Lebanon.

They’ll play against Syria in Beirut on September 13, and Lebanon in Rotorua on September 17.

Corey Webster will not participate. He’s been playing in China recently and will take some time to rest prior to the ANBL season. Thomas Abercrombie will also sit out as he nurses a hamstring injury.

Full Tall Blacks roster:

Guards: Shea Ili (SKYCITY Breakers), Jarrod Kenny (Cairns Taipans), Ethan Rusbatch (Bay Hawks), Tai Webster (Galatasaray).

Forwards: Reuben Te Rangi (Brisbane Bullets), Dion Prewster (Bay Hawks), Jordan Ngatai (SKYCITY Breakers), Isaac Fotu (Ratiopharm Ulm), Finn Delany (SKYCITY Breakers), Mika Vukona (Brisbane Bullets).

Centres: Rob Loe (Cairns Taipans), Tohi Smith-Milner (Melbourne United).
